I mean, they pretty much did before. Hell, it didn’t even have to be a Charger, or that gen, it just had to be orange.

For me it’s not a PC crowd thing. I’m a mixed race twentysomething living in Massachusetts and I’ve had firsthand encounters with people who rallied behind this flag and threatened violence upon my person (and, on one occasion, was the subject of a barrage of beer bottles lobbed in my direction in urban Connecticut). When use (or misuse if you prefer) of the flag in this manner is so prevalent I can understand various agencies and organizations choosing to distance themselves from it.

So actions in MA & CT, two of the deepest-blue and most-segregated states in the country, should be the arbiters of a symbol of southern rebellion?

That is the flag of traitors and racists. Good fucking riddance.

I used the MA and CT examples because those states are where many would least expect such issues. I’ve had similar encounters with people who flew the flag for similar ideological reasons in the south and in the west. As for southern rebellion, I could point out why they were rebelling in the first place, but I’ll let that can of worms stay closed for now.

For the record, I’m not saying people shouldn’t be allowed to display or support the flag, even if I personally don’t care for it. However, just like it’s in the right of an individual or organization to choose to show it, it’s in the right of individuals and organizations (such as WalMart, NASCAR, and Warner Brothers with the General Lee) to choose not to display it or sell it, and choose to denounce it. And, to summarize what I was trying to say in my first post, considering how many people do use the flag as a symbol of racism, bigotry, and hate, regardless of whether using it in that way is a progression or a perversion of what it originally stood for, the decision we’re seeing from many to move away from the flag is more than just a PC issue and, especially with the spotlight the recent shootings have put on it, isn’t surprising.

Because Warner Brothers cancels their one contract to product die-cast general lees, and won’t be licensing it again with or without the flag, orange chargers are now general lees?

That is one convoluted logic train you got there.
